Movie (2006) Starring: Daniel Craig (James Bond) Mads Mikkelsen (Le Chiffre) Judi Dench (M) Jesper Christiansen (Mr. White) Jeffrey Wright (Felix Leiter) Clemens Schick (Kratt) The terrorist banker Le Chiffre loses a lot of money of his clients. To get this money back, he has to win at a high stakes poker game at Casino Royale in Montenegro. The announcements were confirmed to the press, along with Jeffrey Wright as Felix Leiter, on February 16th 2006, some two weeks since filming began. Casino Royale was primarily shot at Barrandov Studios in Prague, with additional location shooting in the Czech Republic, The Bahamas, Italy, and the United Kingdom. During Casino Royale (2006) James Bond travels to locations such as Madagascar, the Bahamas, Montenegro and Venice, and required a number of weeks on location in addition to studio work. Principal photography for Casino Royale commenced on January 31st 2006 and ran all the way through to July 21st.

The first unit relocated to the sunny Bahamasfor much of February and March in 2006 in order to capture sceneson the island of New Providence and Coral Harbour. The Bahamasdoubled for Madagascar, which featured in the opening sequenceof 'Casino Royale'.An abandoned hotel construction site in CoralHarbour was kitted out for the second unit to shoot the amazingfree-running sequence. 007 himself, and indeed the Bond crew,was already familiar with the balmy Bahamas as the island nationplayed host to Bond in several other adventures including: 'Thunderball' and 'ForYour Eyes Only'.
While the second unit toiled on in the heat,the first unit journeyed to the luxury estate Albany house (ownedby pro-golfers Ernie Els and Tiger Woods). Here the Craig andDench shot scenes in which they discover the body of Solangeand brief for 007's trip to Montenegro.

In late June '06, the first unit crew moved to Italy where the they shot idyllic scenes on the shoresof Lake Como (a location made famous by George Lucas' Star Wars)and moved on to Venice where landmarks such as St. Marks square,the Academy of Music, and the Grand Canals are utilised as abackdrop for 'Royale' finale.

Whilst the first unit shot on location, thesecond unit returned to the UK and 007's home, Pinewood Studios.In the gigantic 007 Stage, the crew filmed sequences for theflooding house. Production wrapped on Casino Royale on the 21stof Julyand on the 30th, while crew striked the Venice set, a gas firebroke out in the 007 soundstage. No one was injured and thedisaster had no impact on the 'Casino Royale' releasedate, the famous soundstage would need to be rebuilt from scratch
